The REGEN project was delighted to participate in the recent Built4People clustering event hosted by CINEA (European Climate, Infrastructure and Environment Executive Agency). Bringing together representatives from over 30 Horizon Europe projects, the workshop provided a valuable platform to foster synergy.

The dedicated clustering workshop focused on several key objectives:

  • Knowledge sharing: Exchanging insights and technical breakthroughs across sister projects within the Built4People Partnership.
  • Policy updates: Gaining direct perspectives on EU construction and building policies from representatives of DG RTD and DG ENER.
  • Strategic alignment: Linking project outcomes to the overarching Built4People transition strategy and discussing directions for the upcoming Multiannual Financial Framework (MFF).
  • Collaboration and scaling: Identifying collaborative pathways and mechanisms to scale up innovative solutions across European regions.

Event highlights

The session opened with welcome addresses from Martin Lange (Head of Unit, CINEA C2), Anastasiya Yurchyshyna (ECTP), and Christina Claeson-Jonsson (ENCORD). Following policy updates from DG RTD and DG ENER, the STAR-track project presented the Built4People Innovation Clusters Network, highlighting opportunities for cross-project integration.

During the morning pitch session, 11 newcomer initiatives presented their work across five key strategic themes:

  • Industrialisation of sustainable, circular deep renovation
  • Robotics for construction, renovation, and maintenance
  • BIM-based processes and digital twins for circular energy renovation
  • Re-use and deconstruction
  • Digital tools to foster participative design, planning, and management of buildings and districts

As part of this vibrant community, REGEN looks forward to strengthening ties with partner projects and contributing to shared goals in urban sustainability and building renovation.
