On 3–4 December 2025, the WeGenerate Consortium gathered in Barcelona (Spain) for its 5th Consortium Meeting, an event aimed at advancing collaboration and innovative solutions for urban regeneration. The meeting brought together EU projects, city representatives, and researchers to exchange knowledge, explore synergies, and discuss best practices for sustainable urban development.

Background: REGEN’s participation was made possible through prior collaboration with WeGenerate. TECNALIA had met the WeGenerate team in November 2025, which led to an invitation to contribute to this important two-day event.

Day two: Spotlight on REGEN

Later in the morning, REGEN was featured in a hybrid session highlighting EU-funded urban regeneration initiatives. TECNALIA presented REGEN’s Local Digital Twin solutions, demonstrating how digital tools can support data-driven urban regeneration processes. The 15-minute session underscored the project’s innovative approach to integrating technology with sustainable urban development. Other projects in the session included Commit2Green and REALLOCATE, showcasing complementary strategies and fostering cross-project collaboration.

Participating in this session allowed us to present REGEN’s unique approach to urban regeneration, while learning from other EU projects. It highlighted how collaboration and knowledge exchange can accelerate the impact of our local solutions.
