In early November 2025, two information sessions were organised to present the results of a public survey conducted earlier in the year. The survey focused on housing conditions, identified needs, and regeneration priorities.
Presenting the survey results
Organized by the Municipality of Laredo, the Oficina de Regeneración del Barrio, and local project partners, the sessions aimed to “return” the collected information to residents in a transparent and structured way. Using a PowerPoint presentation, the survey results were visualized to make the data accessible and understandable, explaining why the survey was conducted, how the data were processed, and how the findings would inform concrete regeneration actions.
Participants could see both quantitative results and open-ended responses. Concrete examples included strong social cohesion and neighbourhood ties, as well as challenges related to accessibility, urban maintenance, cleanliness, housing conditions, and municipal attention. Residents’ feedback on what they value most and least about Puebla Vieja was also discussed, helping to identify shared strengths and critical issues.
The sessions provided space for discussion, allowing participants to react to the results, validate interpretations, and express priorities and concerns directly with municipal representatives and project partners. This approach turned survey data into shared understanding and prepared the ground for subsequent participatory activities.
Participatory walks
As part of the engagement process, participatory walks were planned to complement the sessions. One walk took place on 9 December 2025, involving a small but highly motivated group of residents.
Walking through the neighbourhood allowed participants to observe concrete issues on site and discuss potential improvements, reinforcing the dialogue initiated during the sessions.
