LISER showcases REGEN at Society in Motion in Luxembourg
On 23 September 2025, LISER hosted Society in Motion: Science and Methods for Greater Impact, held at the European Convention Center Luxembourg. The event brought together researchers, practitioners, and policymakers to explore innovative methods for socio-territorial transformation and neighbourhood development.

Engaging demonstrations of Neighbourhoods Regeneration
As part of the exhibition, LISER hosted a stand dedicated to Living Labs, showcasing the REGEN EU Project as a real-world example of applying Living Labs in urban planning. Visitors had the opportunity to engage directly with project materials, explore practical applications, and learn about how Living Labs can foster collaborative neighbourhoods regeneration processes.
The stand presented REGEN demo sites, including Beckerich, Laredo, Milan, and Dublin, illustrating how the project applies context-sensitive approaches to neighbourhood regeneration. Participants were invited to take part in a decision-making card game, simulating the roles of different stakeholders in a multi-actor urban planning process. This interactive exercise allowed attendees to experience firsthand how diverse perspectives and collaboration shape urban development outcomes.

In addition, the stand highlighted specific methods and tools developed within REGEN, demonstrating how Living Labs enable iterative testing, co-creation, and evidence-based planning. The practical examples underscored the potential of collaborative, stakeholder-driven approaches to address complex urban challenges.
Impacts and outcomes
The organisation of Society in Motion, along with this specific contribution, allowed LISER to present REGEN as a concrete example of how Living Labs can support the transformation of neighbourhoods towards regeneration. Feedback from the audience was highly positive: attendees were impressed by the methodology and enjoyed the simulation exercise, which offered them a hands-on experience of co-constructing urban solutions alongside multiple stakeholders.
