For a few months now, you’ve been getting to know the REGEN partners and their expertise thanks to our partner campaign on our social media (Linkedin and X). A quick refresher won’t hurt, right? 😊
Each work package represents a specific facet of the project team tackling one project aspect, and they’re all interconnected. Here’s a quick look at the REGEN work packages and why you should stay tuned to their progress:
WP1 – Living lab activities and capacity building for the Regeneration Office 👥
It focuses on creating diverse and active communities in demo sites through co-creation, citizen science, and capacity-building. The aim is to increase awareness of sustainable, inclusive, and accessible built environments and support the future adoption of the REGEN findings. The community will help shape the creation of Neighbourhood Regeneration Offices and contribute to the development of decision-support tools. Leader : LISER
WP2 – Development of socio-ecological regeneration innovations and socio-technical components 🌿
It focuses on defining and refining methodologies that enable sustainable and scalable urban regeneration. It develops frameworks for assessing neighbourhoods and designing interventions that integrate environmental, social, and economic factors. During the first 24 months, WP2 will provide key insights into the tools and frameworks needed for replicable and effective urban regeneration. Leader : IES
WP3 – Demo site activities 🏙️
It is dedicated to the implementation of pilot projects in selected neighbourhoods, turning theories and methodologies from WP2 into practical, on-the-ground solutions. This work package aims to demonstrate the impact of integrated urban regeneration strategies in real-world settings, providing evidence of their feasibility and effectiveness. Leader : TECNALIA
WP4 – AFUR demo sites evaluation and replication 🔄
It focuses on assessing the outcomes of the pilot projects and the overall impact of the project. This includes evaluating environmental, social, and economic impacts, and comparing them against initial objectives. WP4 also tracks lessons learned and provides actionable insights for future urban regeneration efforts in Europe. Leader : NOBATEK
WP5 – Dissemination, Exploitation and Communication (DEC) 📣
It ensures that the project’s results are effectively communicated to the public, stakeholders, and the broader community. This WP also focuses on exploitation strategies to ensure the scalability of the results and supports replication efforts across Europe. Leader : R2M FR
