We are pleased to report that a comprehensive article about the REGEN EU Project has been featured on the Social Innovation Academy <https://www.socialinnovationacademy.eu.

The article, titled “REGEN: Regeneration of Neighbourhoods Towards a Low-Carbon, Inclusive, and Affordable Built Environment,” delves into the project’s mission of transforming urban regeneration through circular economy principles across Europe.

Key highlights from the article include:

  • Assessment Framework for Urban Regeneration (AFUR): This holistic framework is designed to drive environmental sustainability, economic revitalization, and social inclusion through updated participatory urban planning and management methods.
  • Demonstration Sites: The project will be implemented in four cities – Milan (IT), Dublin (IE), Beckerich (LUX), and Laredo (ES) – where it will focus on preserving heritage, integrating new infrastructures, and transforming citizen habits.
  • Project Goals: AFUR will guide city stakeholders in achieving robust and sustainable decarbonization pathways, enhancing resilience to climate change through specific regeneration interventions.
  • Collaborative Effort: The REGEN consortium, led by Sylvain Kubicki from the Luxembourg Institute of Science and Technology (LIST), includes 23 European partners. This multidisciplinary team comprises research and technology organizations, public institutions, private companies, and SMEs, all working together to advance sustainable development and urban regeneration.

We are grateful to the Social Innovation Academy for featuring the kick-off press release of the REGEN Project on their website.
