The ISEK, the Basque Council for the Promotion of Accessibility, organized the Conference on Universal Accessibility ‘Euskadi: a shared commitment’, on 29 October 2024 at the Kursaal Conference Centre in Donostia-San Sebastian. 🇪🇸

This event focused on addressing the challenges and opportunities in accessibility, with the goal of promoting inclusion and equal opportunities for everyone. As this topic is one of the main objectives of REGEN, TECNALIA, one of the partners of our consortium, was present.

🗣️ In addition to different speakers, there was a small market set up outside the event room, showcasing various services and products designed to enhance accessibility. At TECNALIA’s stand, they demonstrated the potential of local digital twins to improve accessibility in cities. TECNALIA shared how this technology has been implemented in past projects and how it plans to use it in future initiatives, including the REGEN project.
📃 They also distributed leaflets and discussed the specific challenges of physical accessibility in Laredo’s La Puebla Vieja, one of our REGEN’s pilot site.

While many attendees were unfamiliar with this type of digital technology, TECNALIA received questions from representatives of three different municipalities, showing genuine interest in the concept.
